Please review those manuals for setup of each. This manual will just explain the setup and control of the Model Configurator. The model configurator can be used for the following processes: - Quote Processing, to send out the quote. - Make-to-order - engineer-to-order (ETO) - assemble-to-order (ATO) - configure-to-order (CTO) - Custom Manufacturer. ===Setup=== Inventory control is where the model configurator is setup. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-001.png}} The items are to be setup in inventory control and should have a model number associated to them. This model code is used in the setup generation of configured model number. All the components that are used in the configuration should also have the model number setup. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-002.png}} Then select the sales order configurator for the Top level item. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-003.png}} DEF (short for definition) This is where setup the configuration and options used during the entry of a sales order and or ecommerce order processing. Like the bill of materials and other screen the maintenance of the screen is the same.\\ Add new options, removed options, moved them up and down and save the screen. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-004.png}} ===Type Calculation Options=== Below are the options setup in the Type Calculation process. These options are setup in the rules setup/tables under quote calculation steps. Below are descriptions of each option in the sales order configuration process, then there is details on each one of those options listed in the next section. * **Set base cost** – This uses the base product pricing from the Item master price 1 for calculation of the total price of the finished goods items. * **Add Price** – will not effect the BOM in manufacturing but will create add-ons for the pricing of a product, sometimes used for installation and labor. * **Add Multiple Params** – This is used if you need to change the size a product and based upon the size the product it can calculate the overall pricing of the product, and change the amount of material needed in the bill of materials when generating a manufacturing work order. * **Add Fixed Price (single select)** – this is used when you are selecting options for the certain product. The Certain (only can select one) add-on item will be added to the bill of materials for the work order. This item can also be a sub-assembly. * **Add Fixed Price (multi-select select)** – this is used when you are selecting options to be added to your finished goods item, and will give the capability to select many items at a time. The add-on item will be added to the bill of materials for the work order. These item can also be a sub-assembly * **Add Fixed Price and Multiplier (single select)** – this is used when you are selecting options for the certain products and a multiplier that is used on the next Add Fixed Price after this on on the list. The Certain (only can select one) add-on item will be added to the bill of materials for the work order. This item can also be a sub-assembly. * **Additional Items (Multiple select)** – this is used when you are selecting specific items in the product database, can be restricted by category. Several items can be added to a product. * **Description Only** – this is used to break out and group the model options and describe the options types. It makes the entry easier so you can group the options into different categories. Other options and fields required. Ignore quantity switch, that will not use the quantity of an item for the price calculation. * **Title** - is what the order entry and ecommerce people see when entering the order. * **Multiple Operands** - this is only used when type calculation is ADD Multiple Params. These are the entry fields that will be used with the factor to calculate the price of an item. I.E. ((Length X Width) X Compute Factor) = Selling price for this option. * **Compute Factor** - this is only used when type calculation is ADD Multiple Params, and is used in the above calculation. * **Show** - will show the detail pricing amount of each option on the order entry screen. * **Choice Operands** – only used for Add Fixed Cost options. Add is to add another option, Remove is to remove and option and Save is to save the changes to an option. * **Choice Options** – only used for Add Fixed Cost options. This is where you add the options listed on the screen, these options also have Products and Exclude Products, pricing and a description name for the option. ===System Table Setup=== This shows in the system tables, each of the Type Calculation options in the system.\\ Also in there is a description of each option. The description can be changed to personalize the choices. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-005.png}} When using the option additional items you can limit the items by category.\\ Here is where you can restrict the items selected from the product database by category. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-006.png}} Details of each option Set base Price1 – This uses the base product pricing from the Item master price 1 for calculation of the total price of the finished goods items. When entering a sales order and Ecommerce order, this is the base cost calculated. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-009.png}} This price will be used as the base price for the item. If you do not set a base price it will only take the price of each option to calculate the unit price of this item. Configurator page is setup with a multiplier that is used to factor or up charge the next option in the list. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-010.png}} Details of each option\\ During Order entry, the base price is setup to price 1. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-011.png}} Add fixed price option {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-012.png}} Details of each option {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-013.png}} Base Price is setup to Item Price 1 on E-commerce cart. **Fixed Price Option**\\ This will have no effect on the work order created. Details of each option Add Fixed Cost single and multi-select. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-014.png}} When you add Fixed Price single or multi-select then this effects the components used in the configuration process, it also can effect the options used during the selection process. **Parts:** displays the parts used for this configuration, it can be single parts of subassemblies. If you have multiple parts they can be comma separated. **Exclude Parts:** this will exclude parts of the option list so those items can not be selected in either prior or later selection processes. If you have multiple parts they can be comma separated. **Default:** Shows that this item is the defaulted one if nothing is selected. Details of each option {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-015.png}} {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-016.png}} In this example, Gas is the default and electric is optional.\\ If it was multi-select then you could select both Gas and Electric.\\ Details of each option {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-017.png}} In the installation process, Special has an excluded part, that is the part number used for the Exectric. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-018.png}} So now you can only select the Gas as an option.\\ The Electric has disappeared from the option list and only show the Gas. Because special Excluded Electric form the options. Details of each option {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-019.png}} All the same features work on the ecommerce cart as in the back office order entry system. Details of each option\\ The prices and configuration come out the same. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-020.png}} Work order processing with the sales order configuration. When setting up the bill of material, there is an option for linking the quantity entered in the order entry screen and the bill of material quantity per. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-021.png}} Pull up the bill of material for item RMP100 You can see that there is a link to the configuration module. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-022.png}} Based upon the number put into the Length field in Feet, it will use that quantity entered in multiply it by the Quantity Per and times the Quantity ordered to get the requirements for the work order. During the order entry process we can add a work order and see this process work. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-023.png}} Click the **add W.O. Button**. This will create a work order. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-024.png}} {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-025.png}} that work order is linked to the sales order. And the BOM for the work order is customized. When you review the work order bill of materials requirements, they are different from the standard bill of materials. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-026.png}} The quantity has been updated based upon the size of the item configured.\\ Quantity = bill of material quantity per * product configuration size requirements * and quantity ordered.\\ 8=2*4*1\\ Other features that are important, if you want to add a component based upon the configuration that is possible as well. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-027.png}} Here we have to components or sub assemblies that are to be added to the bill of materials. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-028.png}} Create a new work order for this quote. {{products:distribution:so-model-configurator:image-029.png}} check out the work order bill of materials.
